• If it is a drama you should include two brief character profiles

Research the opening sequence of a children’s tv programme. Particularly focus on the first 5 minutes.
This research into the opening sequence should cover:

title sequence- what are the main colours and how does the font suggest a particular meaning?
How does the audience know the
genre?
How does
music/voice over/sound effect choices target the audience to signify genre?
How do the setting, costumes of presenters/actors, lighting and facial expression/body language help convey meaning
?
How does
camerawork and editing indicate the programme’s genre and audience?
How are the
audience needs met – does the programme educate/entertain/offers escapism/social interaction
?
